Means of Action for NGOs

There are many ways for NGOs to participate in the UPR:

• submit a report to the High Commissioner for Human Rights (HCHR) on the situation of human rights in the particular country at hand;
• lobby members of the working group;
• address one of the Council’s plenary sessions prior to adopting the final draft;
• ensure that the State under review implements the recommendations of the UPR.
